This has only started happening since I updated to OSX Yosemite this morning.

When I switch to a new campfire room that has a new update, the bottom fade effect loads higher up within the chat window. I've noticed it typically 30 - 50px higher than the standard location.

As soon as I click on the window and scroll, it reappears in the correct location.

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Unfortunately this is a regression in Webkit which didn't get addressed in time for the first release of 10.10.

I've been looking for an elegant solution, but I may have to resort to a hack if it's still unresolved in the next couple of days.

Sorry for the trouble, a fix will arrive soon.
