Snopard has this wonderful new autocorrect/text expansion feature that I want to use with Propane, but it seems to forget it's one if you quit and re-launch the app. Steps to reproduce:

  • Install Snow Leopard (obviously)
  • Launch propane, join room
  • Right click text input box > Substitutions > Text replacement
  • Quit app
  • Re-launch, replacement is disabled again

I was sort of hoping nobody would notice ducking substitutions and auto-correct until I had a chance to put it in the next ducking feature release of Propane.

this is certainly on the list but it's not quite as straight-forward as I'd hoped.

Basically, I cheaped-out a bit on the implementation of these preferences, in that they are applied to the chat window's field editor (a field editor is shared between all fields in a given window).

For "check spelling while typing" this isn't a huge deal because it's non-destructive, but for "automatic text replacement" it's turned out to be super-annoying: I tried a command-f search for TM_RUBY and it kept translating it to ™_RUBY.

I think I should keep the 'speak' field preferences for text/spelling independent of the 'find' fields. That's going to take a little bit more surgery, clearing and setting the correct preferences depending on the control being edited.

It's in the queue, but it may not make it into this next release (which addresses compatibility issues with Campfire's new XSRF measures).

    Regards, Trev

    Hey again guys,

I managed to squeeze this into the next release, it should be in the auto-update queue in the next day or so.
