Hi,

Is there a way to set an away, or "in the zone" status, that will disable notifications until it is lifted?

Pretty annoying to get tons of notifications when you're coding ;)

Thanks,
Bar.

    Hey,

There isn't a facility to temporarily silence notifications but it is on my todo list.

That said, I find the simplest and most obvious way to eliminate distractions while "in the zone" is to shut everything down and tell my colleagues to call me if something is on fire.

    Hi Trevor,

    Thanks for the reply.

Do you have a timeline for implementing such away feature?

    Thanks!

    Hey,

I'll be brutally honest: there are a lot features that have a higher priority. It might sneak in as part of an upcoming UI refresh.

There are changes further on the horizon that will mean "status" will have to be treated as a core concept so it is coming.

It does occur to me to ask though: are you on 10.9 and if so, have you considered using Notification Center's "do not disturb" mode? You pull down the notifications sidebar and there's a switch there for it.

    :o

I'm a new Mac user so I didn't think of that. That's an awesome solution!
BTW - I read somewhere that Propane uses the notification center only if
Growl is not available - But I think it is available on my machine - Am I
    confusing this with something else?

    Thanks!
    Bar.

If Growl is running then Propane will route notifications through Growl (when Growl is running there should be a "paw" icon in your status bar).

I do recall though that Growl has a way to temporarily disable notifications but I don't recall where it is in the menus.

I also recall that you can configure growl to use Notification Center to deliver the notifications so my previous suggestion would still work in that case.
