Is it possible to make propane ask me if I want to leave a room?

Sometimes i quickly hit Apple-W to close a window on another app, but propane's in the front and I end up exiting the room.

    Hi Sean,

there's a bit of a tug-of war on features like this one. There's no chance of "losing your work" so closing without a prompt is a reasonable action.

But both of us have been occasionally nailed by closing the wrong window.

I would rather just re-open the room than have to deal with a confirmation prompt each time I hit command-w, so I'd want a preference for it. And it would probably be polite to add "don't ask me this again" to the confirmation dialog.

And suddenly this feature (that I find annoying anyhow) takes up all kinds of cognitive space and lines of code.

But I'm only one user so if other people chime in and say "hell yeah, it's a pain point for me too" I'll definitely put in the effort.

Until then, the only option is for us to arm-wrestle over the issue to see who wins :-)

    Regards, Trevor

I'll put in my "yes please" vote. You don't really need a config option, just have a "never ask again" option in the prompt. First time it bugs someone that doesn't want the behavior, they check that, and it never bothers them again.

I would like to leave the room when I hit cmd + q, that would be possible?

Should I open another question / ticket?

    Thanks,

    Hi again!

i forgot to add an explanation about why I'm asking that. If I leave the rooms before to close propane it doesn't go into these rooms next time. If I close it with cmd + q next time that I open propone it goes directly to the same rooms that in the previous session, and that's pretty nice :)

I really would like this feature as well... it's far too easy to get logged out of a room accidentally.

We use Propane here at work, and people are constantly dropping out of chatrooms that they want to idle/listen in because they accidentally leave the room by closing the window.

Personally, I'd like Propane to open up the same set of rooms every time I open it, and to never leave them.

The current behavior is definitely slated to change.

There's some pretty important details to work out as far as multiple windows goes, but the spirit of the change will be: "presence in a room is permanent until you explicitly leave the room".
