What happened to the list of people in the room

Until today, propane was showing me a list of everyone currently in the room for the selected tab in a pane to the right of the main window.

Today it disappeared!

How do I get it back?

    Hi Rick,

If I understand you correctly, there's a widget beside the 'speak' field - click and drag that to the left.

Well, I thought that might be it.

You mean the little box with three vertical lines between the bottom of the scroll bar and the window resize widget right?

It seems to ignore all of my mouse actions.

Might this be due to a change on the campfire side of things?

Yep, the 3 vertical lines thingy is the control.

And ugh... it's not a Campfire issue in my opinion - and it's working fine here...

Can you try this out please?

1 - click on the Propane chat window to make sure it has focus.
2 - drag one of the tabs (or the only tab, if there's just one) completely away from the chat window. The drag icon should turn into a thumbnail of the chat window.
3 - drop the tab anywhere

It should create a new window with the sidebar exposed. If you've got other tabs in the old window, you can drag them and drop them into the new window's tab bar.

I'd be interested to know whether the little box with the 3 vertical lines responds to your mouse in the new window.

And of course, do let me know if the new window comes up without the sidebar exposed too.

Heck, just let me know how you make out... :-P

    Regards, Trev

    Trevor,

I tried you suggestion, and no joy.

I had two room tabs. I dragged one out to get a new window.

Now I have two windows, one for each room, and neither has the sidebar, and neither widget responds to the mouse.

    Hi Rick,

I'm sorry this still hasn't been sorted out...

First of all, something I should have asked earlier: have you restarted Propane since the problem appeared?

If you haven't restarted Propane then please try that now.

Otherwise, exit completely from Propane and then from a command line, execute the following:

defaults delete com.protocool.Propane "NSSplitView Subview Frames chatSplitPosition"
    defaults delete com.protocool.Propane "openChats"

Then restart Propane, re-open the rooms you were in, and let me know whether the sidebar as re-appeared.

    Regards, Trev

    No difference.

I quit propane, and copied and pasted the commands into terminal.app.

Restarted Propane, reopened one of the rooms, and got no sidebar and the widget still doesn't work.

This still isn't working. I guess it was a mistake to register. I seem to have lost Trevor's attention when he no longer had to moderate my posts.

    Hey Rick,

I'm sorry for leaving you hanging - crazy client deadline had me completely heads-down for nearly a week...

I just had a thought... the sort of one that makes you queazy, wondering if you've been completely and utterly stupid...

You don't happen to have a really narrow chat window do you? There's a minimum chat-transcript size and if you make the window that small, you can't expand the sidebar.

So... if make the window wider, then try to expose the sidebar - does that work?

If it does... ugh... I'm so sorry for not thinking of that sooner.

    Let me know.

    Trev
